Parev Washing Up

Dear Rabbi Simon,
My wife bought two plastic jugs. There are a few plastic cups which came with them. She intends to use them for water and fruit juice and treat them as parev. We would like to know if we can wash them in either the milky sink or in the meaty sink. Would they always have to be washed in the same sink?
Many thanks,
Moshe

Dear Moshe
If you only (or primarily) use them for cold beverages, you may wash them in either sink. If you are washing them with other utensils, it is best to use warm (rather than hot) water. Enjoy the summer weather!

Ask the Rabbi: Quinoa on Pesach
Dear Rabbi Simon,
Where do you stand on quinoa (and the kitniyot ban) for Pesach?
Many thanks,
Tzippy

Dear Tzippy,
In line with other American authorities, I am in favour of quinoa. Although I reject completely the voices (mostly from Israel) seeking to abolish the ban on kitniyot entirely, IMO we do not need to include in the prohibition pseudo-grains that were unknown in the Old World until modern times. Best to buy with a Pesach hechsher though, to be free of any possible wheat contamination.
